Since its establishment in 1981, Intercontinental Video Limited has built up an enormous market for its video products. It distributes a diversified range of products from Hollywood films to Japanese dramas and animations as well as Chinese films and television programs and children products.

On Hollywood products, IVL is the sole distributor in Hong Kong for Universal Studios Limited, Paramount Home Entertainment International and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. On local productions side, IVL is appointed by Celestial Pictures to distribute their Shaw Brothers Film Library (the world's largest Chinese film library featuring almost 600 classic Hong Kong films). IVL also distributes video titles from Media Asia Film Distribution (HK) Ltd. Its distribution list also includes Studio Ghibli’s Japanese animation library, a catalog of selective quality infotainment TV programs produced by Radio Television Hong Kong (“RTHK”), and also independent films from IFDL.

IVL is the official distributor of Universal Studios Limited. With hundreds of titles ranging from motion pictures to animated features and musicals, this licensing collaboration has broadened the variety of our programs.

Appointed by Paramount Home Entertainment International Limited as the exclusive home video licensee, IVL has taken up the rights to market and distribute popular live action films and movie franchises on video.

With the acquisition of the home entertainment distribution license of Sony Pictures in 2013, IVL has further broadened its product offering of blockbuster films suitable for all ages.

Since 2002, IVL has added the Shaw Brothers Film Library, owned by Celestial Pictures, to its distribution list, making it the sole home entertainment distributor of the world's largest Chinese film library. Currently, the catalog includes almost 600 digitally-restored titles, among which some of them are also on Blu-ray.

Being a renowned company in the industry, Media Asia Film Distribution (Hong Kong) Limited produces movies both locally and in Mainland China. Starting from late 2013, IVL has been distributing video products of those mega hits.

IVL is also thrilled to release Studio Ghibli, one of Japan's best loved producers of Hayao Miyazaki’s classics such as NAUSICAA OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND, CASTLE IN THE SKY, MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO and more recent movie releases (including SPIRITED AWAY, HOWL’S MOVING CASTLE, PONYO, THE BORROWER ARRIETTI, FROM UP ON POPPY HILL and the latest THE WIND RISES) on video under this long-term partnership.

Having been granted the exclusive worldwide video distribution rights of Radio Television Hong Kong’s TV programs since 2005, IVL has further enriched its video library with documentary programs like the HONG KONG HISTORY Series and KUNG FU QUEST. A program on positive parenting – PARENTING DOCUMENTARY has become a longtime best-selling educational video since its release.
